News » On Endings, and Beginnings

Well, as you can see, this site is dead. In fact, if you showed up recently, you'd have noticed the place was very messed up ever since my Ripway account stopped working (I was hosting the css there, among other things), so, I had to revert back to the default look. Oh well.

But yeah, the comic has been discontinued, due to my lack of willingness to work on it. Sorry, but the whole copy/paste routine becomes boring... and then a chore. There have been times I considered updating it with new character designs, each with a different method. Right now, I'm attempting to use a tablet for the purpose, and while the efforts have not produced a comic thus far, they have yielded a number of decent drawings. To follow my course into uncharted territory, please visit my DeviantArt page, where I post my new stuff:

http://silverstyle.deviantart.com

As for this place, who knows? Perhaps it will experience a revival in the near (or far) future. I haven't really decided. It's been fun, everyone. Later.

News » On Vacation (DA Repost)

Originally posted in my DA journal on July 15th:

For those of you that have been keeping up to date with my art type stuff (for those of you that dont, just what the hell are you doing here? Really, Im curious), youll note that while posting my last comic, I noted that I will be going to Europe on vacation. Well, here I am. On dialup at the moment, so everything is a pain in the ass to load, which makes this extra special. Also, this keyboard is kinda odd, which is why Im not using apostrophes (I dont feel like looking for them).

So what am I up to here? Various stuff, most not involving computers. When I do have the ability to get a little net, I generally just check my email and leave it at that. So, if youre wishing to contact me, that is the best way.

While Im not making any comics (I lack ideas), I am making some breakthroughs in my art (mostly char design), which I will post at my earliest convenience. For those of you that do not want the characters to gain actual bodies, you shall be dissapointed. Sorry, but its time for a change. I know, change is not pleasant (and believe me, I know just how shitty it can be), but I feel like it has to be done, and the added challenge is keeping me interested. Also, think of all the stuff I can put on shirts!

Also, I may buy a tablet when I get back to the States (or at least Austria). Later.

News » Escapism

I wasn't planning on another Gotrobot comic so soon, mainly because I like to put some space between them (for impact purposes), and because I had a few ideas already lined up for production. I did have a Got comic in mind, though this isn't it. That idea will be done eventually, though probably not for a while.

I made this one because I sorta liked the idea. Well, I liked the lowest panels, which were inspired by the gifs. The rest I slapped together quickly and called it a comic. If the upper panels are out of whack, this is the reason. Furthermore, while the other ideas I had are solid (and perhaps more humorous in the traditional sense), they didn't really interest me artistically, and my work ethic is currently low. Enjoy.

In other news, I'm going on vacation on Thursday, so there will probably be no updates for a month and a half. Yes, I may have internet access sometime during the trip, but I'm not making this a priority. So, if I don't update between now and Thursday (a very likely scenario), see yah later.

News » Gotbot Gifs v1

Gotrobot time! *gotrobots*

The original that started it all, so I felt it deserved a mention. I don't know exactly why I made it, but it might have been to use as a DA avatar (which never came about). I guess this is what I have in mind when using gotrobot as a verb.

The updated version of the above. You'll note that there is a gleam in his visor now, as well as the dance has a few more moves. I thought I had one with a clear background, but apparently I didn't, and don't feel like editing it now.

Perhaps Gotbot's favorite activity is flying about (as would mine be were I capable of such a feat). This one turned out suprisingly well.

I think this is my favorite of the bunch. I just love how well that spinning can turned out. AS you may or may not know, Gotrobot uses soda for powerups.

The aforementioned powerup displayed. I may redo this later, make it more flashy and such, but until then, this'll do. Also, the foot grasping thing looks somewhat weird.

The latest gif of the bunch, displaying Gotbot walking. I know, what with the flying, this seems rather unnescessary, but I was doing these with some vague notion of a video game in mind, and it just wouldn't do to have him fly around all the time (come to think of it, that would make a pretty sweet game).

I actually have a lot more gifs done (most feature Gotbot in his mech form), but I decided to ration them out a little, since this is what I'm doing instead of comics these days. Lastly, I give you a Silver gif, inspired by this thing.

PS: I have a comic to post as well, so I have something to do tomorrow.

News » The Impersonal Way

I'm not sure what this is a comment on. Maybe those automated phone things, though I don't mind those so much. Maybe the inevitable replacement of worker by machine, and the resulting isolation. Whatever it is, draw your own conclusion.

This one features no recycled art (how wasteful) and instead features two(?) new characters. No major problems with the design, and in fact everything turned out well. I'm especially pleased with the robot. Will they appear again? Hard to say, like the other infrequent characters, I'll bring them back if I have a decent idea. Enjoy.
Regular readers may notice a recurring plot element.

And as such, the short Fair Weather saga comes to a close. In case you're wondering, this is an old, old idea that's been around in my notebooks waiting for a chance to be made into a comic. And finally, here it is.

The biggest problem the comic gave me was the look of the homeless guy. Took me several tries, in fact. Aside from that, the rest of the design was pretty easy. Enjoy.

News » Fair Weather, Part I

A sequel of sorts to Probably Illegal, as you may or may not have guessed.

I'll admit it's not that funny. In fact, the only reason I'm using an idea of this caliber (hahaa, pun) is because it sets the scene for what is to follow. That's right, the "Part I" in the title is not just for show.

Anyways, minor work in this one, most notably the IV line and a few facial expressions. Once again I couldn't keep it under 6 panels, and it seems to me that is the new default number. Oh well, enjoy.
